| View the Variable-Rate Irrigation paper presented by Dr Ian Yule from the New Zealand Centre for Precision Agriculture at Massey University. This research has shown that PA soil mapping techniques can be used to better estimate and map the soil water holding capacity under a centre pivot irrigator. This information can then be used to more accurately prescribe irrigation and inconjunction with controlling individual sprinklers along the irrigator significant savings in water of 20 to 25% can be achieved. |
